3 CIOs get together to discuss their strategy

Aug 31, 2017

The Indian mutual fund industry has some amazing stalwarts.

Sankaran Naren of ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund is an excellent contrarian who has come to be regarded as the poster boy of value investing in the asset management industry. To his credit, he has had the grit and conviction to be consistent over the years.

In the not-so-far away past, Prashant Jain of HDFC Mutual Fund has been accused of crossing the line between conviction and rigidity. Now in retrospect one can see his investment approach was always disciplined and rational.

Around 7 years ago, the schemes of DSP BlackRock Mutual Fund became laggards with many distributors/advisers pulling the funds off their recommended list. Anup Maheshwari’s leadership and expertise helped put the funds back on the map again.

At the upcoming Morningstar Investment Conference, the three seasoned asset managers will be on a panel moderated by Kaustubh Belapurkar, Morningstar’s director of fund research.

They will share how they navigated their funds over nose-diving crashes and prolonged winning streaks of the past two decades. How their resilience was tested in turbulent times and whether or not their investment philosophy evolved or fundamentally changed.

Do join us for the 7th Morningstar Investment Conference to be held in Mumbai on October 10-11, 2017.

In this quick video, you can hear participants discuss their experience at the conference. Over here, panelists and presenters will share why they find the conference interesting.
