The tech behemoths have truly proved their value during the pandemic. As our online habits change, it could make tech companies even more indispensable and powerful. Microsoft’s chief executive, Satya Nadella, wisely said a few months ago, “The challenges we face demand an unprecedented alliance between business and government.”
If we look at the Forbes list, Netflix, Chanel, Amazon, Microsoft and Paypal showed the largest gain from 2019 to 2020. While during the same period, the biggest value losers were Facebook, Wells Fargo, Mercedes-Benz, Ford and GE.
The BrandZ list agrees with Forbes on all the tech names – Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, Google, Facebook. The other common one is McDonald’s.
