Kalpen Parekh has assumed the role of Joint President at DSP BlackRock Investment Managers. S Naganath will continue as President and Chief Investment Officer of the firm.
Parekh will be responsible for overseeing sales, marketing, operations, human resources, and risk and analysis, while leading international sales. As on December 2016, DSP BlackRock manages assets worth Rs 58,357 crore.
In his prior assignment, Parekh was the Managing Director and Head of Sales and Marketing at IDFC AMC and previously the Chief Executive Officer. Last year, Vishal Kapoor joined IDFC AMC as the CEO.
Parekh has also served in Birla Sun Life AMC and ICICI Prudential AMC after beginning his career with L&T Finance Ltd.
Undoubtedly, he has vast experience in the fund industry in retail sales, marketing and distribution.
Parekh holds a Master's Degree in Management Studies in Finance from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies and a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from Bharati Vidyapeeth, Pune.
