Wendy Davies, product manager at Morningstar Canada, believes that there is a better way to measure the risk for investors of losing money than standard deviation. She argues that Conditional value at risk (CVaR) is a better measure than standard deviation.

Fama & French, famous for their 3-factor model, have come out with a 5-factor one. Samuel Lee digs deeper and finds that Buffett’s framework eventually sails through with flying colours. Lee is a strategist on the funds research team for Morningstar. He is based in Chicago.
