Top performing equity funds of 2020

The year 2020 has been a roller-coaster ride for markets. After a calamitous drop in March 2020, the Indian market has recovered swiftly and is now trading at its all-time high. This has helped most equity funds deliver decent returns in 2020.

Here’s a look at the top-performing equity funds from different categories. We have shortlisted the five best funds, which delivered the highest return in calendar year 2020 as on December 23, 2020. The funds shortlisted are regular plans with growth option. Do note that some of these funds have not completed three years yet. The data is sourced from Morningstar Direct. Sector funds were excluded from this study.

This is not a recommendation and merely a listing. Investors should not choose funds merely by looking at the past one-year performance as it may not sustain in the future.

Wow, this small fund that was once Escorts is really doing a turnaround in the MF industry.

Dec 29 2020 08:55 AM 		Canara robeco has cosistently delivered superb risk adjusted returns across equity fund categories for several yrs. Yet, their AUM is low and they maintain low profile without the bluster of larger fund houses who have talked svlot but dissapointed investors. Morningstar should analyse in detail about this phenomenon. Incidentally, canara follows similar style of investing of axis. Stick to quality and performing themes rather than play cute with so called value style which is used by nonperforming fundmanagers as an excuse.
